Experience a memorable encounter with an Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin in the clear Caribbean waters of Roatan. Your tour begins with pickup from Coxen Hole Cruise Port or Mahogany Bay Cruise Center. Travel comfortably in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to the dolphin facility.

After completing the required check-in procedures, the facility’s staff will guide you to the encounter area. An experienced dolphin trainer will provide instructions before you enter the waist-deep water. During the approximately 30-minute encounter, you will meet a dolphin face-to-face, learn about dolphin behavior and enjoy a gentle, supervised interaction that may include touching the dolphin, a handshake and a kiss.

This relaxed and educational program is suitable for first-time visitors and families with young children. After the activity, your private driver will take you back to the cruise port with sufficient time before your ship’s departure.

The Dolphin Encounter lasts approximately 30 minutes. The total tour duration includes round-trip transportation, facility procedures and preparation for the activity. Travel time may vary depending on the cruise port and local traffic conditions.

What to Expect

Your driver will meet you at the designated pickup location outside Coxen Hole Cruise Port or Mahogany Bay Cruise Center. You will travel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to the dolphin facility. Upon arrival, you will complete the required check-in procedures and receive instructions from the facility’s staff.

An experienced trainer will explain how to interact safely with the dolphin before you enter the waist-deep water. During the approximately 30-minute encounter, you will learn about dolphin behavior and enjoy a close, supervised interaction with an Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin. This is a waist-deep Dolphin Encounter. It is not a dolphin swimming or snorkeling program. After completing the activity, you will meet your private driver for transportation back to the cruise port.

Meeting Instructions

Coxen Hole Cruise Port: Exit through Gate #1. Our representative will be waiting across the street holding a Roatan Dubons Tours sign.

Mahogany Bay Cruise Center: Walk approximately 8–10 minutes from the terminal exit to the tour operators area, where our representative will be waiting with a Roatan Dubons Tours sign.

Important Information

Guests with limited mobility, seniors, or families traveling with small children may choose to take a taxi from Mahogany Bay to the meeting point if preferred. Please arrive at the designated meeting location at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure.

• The recommended minimum age for the Dolphin Encounter is 3 years.

• Children ages 3–13 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

• Children under 3 may participate while being held by a paying adult. Please contact us before booking to confirm availability and transportation arrangements.

• Pregnant women are not permitted to participate.

• The encounter takes place in waist-deep water.

• Personal cameras are permitted during the Dolphin Encounter.

• Professional photographs are available for purchase at the facility’s gift shop.

• The Dolphin Encounter lasts approximately 30 minutes.

• This activity does not include swimming, snorkeling, foot pushes or dorsal rides.

• The exact pickup time will be confirmed according to your ship’s arrival time and the assigned activity schedule.

• Please provide your cruise ship name and scheduled arrival and departure times when booking.

• Bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Swimming with the dolphins was the highlight of our visit to Roatan. The entire experience was well organized, and having private transportation made the day simple and stress-free. The trainers were friendly, explained everything clearly, and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the interaction.
